Rememeber: Only NAAHHZIS use cash!
Reuters pushes the idea that using cash is far right. So there we have it; 'journalists' as bugmen activists
In the town where I live the machines that took cash in exchange for a ticket for parking no longer function. Now there are stickers (pictures to follow) on these machines directing drivers to an 'app' - implying any driver wanting to park should have a smartphone. There is another option to text a code to a number to find out wher the nearest shop is where you can buy a ticket (using cash?). Ahain, this assumes the driver has a charged mobile phone with credit on it. This function does not work anyway as I have tried several times.
There is no cash option. This is extremely inconvenient for those people with no smartphones, or indeed nobile phones or indeed not agile enough to go sprinting to wherever the shop is and sprint back before a warden appears to ticket the car.
If a smartphone app was an option for paying alongside cash this would be fine of course. But it is not.
The problems with app only payment:
- Excluses those without smartphones
- Means having yet another app cluttering up one's phone
- Another vulnerability for being hacked
- Completely unnecessary complication for a simple matter
-
- the parking app is another example of tracking software
